I bought one of these just for making osso buco. I found myself using it for a lot more than just that. I make tomato sauce in it, chili, any excuse I have to bust it out, I do. I absolutely...

One of my first internet knives. Great blade. I mean *great* but the handle was a bit weird. Right now it just sits at the bottom of my knife kit.

My initial reaction to these articles is that they contain quite biased rhetoric. That does not mean that I necessarily disagree with the scientific studies (which I haven't had the opportunity to read) or some of the article's conclusions, but does make me suspicious of the hyped negative results. As they don't discuss the scientific studies particularly well/openly it reads like these people have an agenda regarding DuPont.

I think it's always been advisable to use Teflon carefully. From the links I followed, it seems there is no conclusion on Teflon yet.
From it's usage level in the general populace, it would seem the level of risk is low.

Most of the problem comes from people washing their teflon in water, causing the teflon to break down and chip, because of this, my wife is NOT allowed to cook or clean in my kitchen utensils, pans or pots. In my professional kitchen you will NOT see teflon pans, you will see seasoned pans, and you will never see them in the dishpit!
