Rum Rum Rum

I am need a simple rum cake that you can make in a 12x18 sheet pan. Can I just make a (white, delicate) cake and pour a rum flavored syrup over it and then ice it with whipping topping?

This person needs it soon!
Thanks to anyone with tried and true suggestions.

I don't have a recipe, but, yes, you can pour (or brush) a rum syrup over any cake that has the strength not to crumble from the liquid. After it has been absorbed, and the top isn't wet, the icing will adhere.
