Homer always cracks me up. Have you seen the episode where he becomes a food critic? Come to think of it, there are a number of episodes that involve or revolve around food.

Gotta love Homer :) Love that episode where he ate that huge steak, what was it supposed to be, 16 pounds or something? LOL!

How about the episode when he sued the Sea Captain for making him leave the 'all you can eat' buffet, before he was finished--gotta admire the stamina!

sillilaatikko

Hi Big! :bounce:

To day 1st of Decemper was (in here it was yesterday) Worlds Aids Day. For me, it was very busy day.
Catering in different places at outside, at the same time!? +3 Celsius, not so bad and it didn’t raining anything.

At the Sillilaatikko you do have two different recipes: Mr Jansson´s Temptation (in Finnish Janssonin kiusaus)split potatoes, onions and, gladly, plenty of cream.

1.split or cut the potatoes (500 g)
2.chop the onion ( 1 large) or medium bunch of spring onions)
3.cut the anchovy’s ( 100 g and liquid)
4.pile ingredients in turns into the casserole
5.add anchovy’s liquid into cream (4dl) and pour mix over other ingredients
6.braise in oven at moderate heat about 1 hour or until cream is covered with little brown dots
Casserole should to be thick.
For four people with white wine and Snaps (shot/spirit/vodka)

And the other one is Silakkalaatikko (Baltic Herring casserole)
1.Fresh Baltic herrings (250 g)
2.one chopped onion
3.split potatoes (500g)
4.salt, black pepper for taste and fresh dill
5.covered with cream
6.into the oven at moderate heat for hour or so
7.drinks as before

Real Finnish men don’t eat “grass”, so to get the authentic atmosphere; don’t serve anything which is fresh green. Something pickled beetroot or pickled cucumber on side bee enough.

Server do not recognize me, so its hard to answer to your mail. it makes me  .
