Beef Marrow

I have a recipe that says to "mash together marrow and flour with fork until nearly smooth - wisk into wine mixture and boil gently until reduced by half". Does this take for granted that the marrow has already been poached or does the cooking process take care of that and it's simply raw marrow?

I think the recipe assumes the bones are roasted.

It sounds like the marrow and flour are used like a beurr manie , Maybe it is raw when mixed . I love marrow :lips: OSSO BUCCO anyone ? :chef:
