Looking for Artisan Cheese makers in the midwest. Any body know of some really unique sources for GOOD cheese - not the mass produced stuff?

Artisan Cheese

Send an e-mail to Giles: hearttrade@aol.com

He has a wonderful selection of truly artisan cheeses, made in small batches, mostly by hand, and he can guide you toward ones you will really like. Tell him his Memphis connection recommended him. You won't be disappointed! :smiles:

Check out Capriole Farms, out of Indiana. She makes some killer Goat cheeses.

The previous recommendatoins are great! Look into Cypress Grove out in CA. Check out Cowgirl Creamery as well, once you're out there. One of my favorites is Everona, though they're a little hard to contact, but worth it.

You might want to check out "The New American Cheese" book. You can find it at Amazon. Not only does it have some good recipes, it has profiles of many Artisan cheesemakers from all over the country.
