Has anyone ever used Guittard Gourment Bittersweet Chocolate. I am making about 300 truffles for a fundraiser and was going to order a 10 lb. block but wanted to make sure that it was good chocolate first. If you have tried it please let me know and if not any other chocolate suggestions would be appreciated.

E. Guittard

I highly recommend E. Guittard bittersweet 55% couverture chocolate. It's a great price for a very decent chocolate and enrobes very nicely. If you want to go all out, order El Rey chocolate. It's the best tasting chocolate you can buy in my opinion.

Scharffen Berger

Scharffen Berger chocolate has surpassed all others I have tried including Guittard (very good) and Valrhona (excellent also, my prior favorite). Like all really good chocolate it is not cheap but it is definitely worth it in my opinion.

what i learned about chocolate

yes, the high priced chocolates are unbeatable however, you should go with what your customer prefers. I use Zococo, Cocoa Noel, El Rey, Belcolade and E Guittard. many times I will blend to my taste.
best!
ps, i can always ship out bags of chocolate, just visit my site and ask for prices.
