now that i'm into sausage making season im reminded of one of the best garage sale investments i ever made...a good old fashioned tinned iron, hand cranked food grinder. its the bees knees! :D easy to work with, easy to clean, and makes great little discrete nuggets of food without tearing or liquifying. i love a good tool. :) any of you still use one of these?

I have my mom's but it's missing one part (can't remember which one). One of these days I'll dig it out and make a serious search for the part. She used it to make ground beef for fresh burgers; cranberry-orange relish; and once, gefilte fish (oy, vay). It was easy to clean and assemble.

I value my old grinder too. Though i am debating if its worth bringing with me when i move next week. The gears a worn down and i dont use it more than every couple months. Also, i was asking myself wether my 14 inch cast iron pan is woth its weight to move.
