Happy Birthday Mezz! A story por vous....
Contractions?
First Grade Catastrophe
A first grader came home so excited. "Mom!" he cried.
"We learned about catastrophes today!" Being a teacher, his mom immediately asked him to tell her about them. She had no idea what he would tell her. Nick said, "Do you know what they are?" She said that she didn't but asked him if he would draw her one..thinking maybe he meant a situation during a guidance lesson with the counselor. He looked at her like she was nuts and said, "Mom, you can't draw words. You write words." She thought to herself..hmm...what is going on... She asked him to show her. He wrote the word don't and proudly stated, "See, here is a contraption and it has a catastrophe!" Of course, he was talking about contractions and apostrophes, but she thought that he was so precious. His teacher was embarassed but she told her at least she taught him well and he could identify "contraptions" from now on.

But enough about you, let's talk about me :D I really need to start checking the birthday list! CC keeps beating me to the punch

Anyway, have a great day and many happy returns. :)

I don't believe it!!! I am actually going to be able to wish someone a Happy Birthday on their birthday, not going to be late this time!!!! :p :D :p

It's people like you that make Cheftalk more than just a website, you have helped make it the community that it is. I wish you the best in the following year and hope that you have many, many more!

Thanks, you guys. Sometimes I think I spend too much time here.... but when I think of what I've learned, the people I've met, the fabulous food I've tasted in unbelieveable places, and the ingredients I've learned about so I could have the courage to use myself, I just can't believe that.

I'm proud to be part of a great community! Chrose, the story was very, very funny!

My birthday started out with a heavy workout in the gym, followed by a good lunch at a friend's restaurant with another friend. Then I had a meeting at temple. After dinner I returned to lead services. Tomorrow night my husband is taking me to The Melting Pot for a romantic dinner- after I pick up my copy of Harry Potter! We also get to see a play on Sunday and have some good BBQ with my cousin. Not a half-bad, three-day birthday I must say!

Since your birthday is an extended one this year, I might not be late after all. I spent your birthday in South Jersey! I was celebrating your day without you. Am I thoughtful or what?? ;) I'm glad your birthday was happy.

I don't want to hijack Mezz' birthday thread, but since my in-laws are in S. Jersey, I have to ask Momo, where in SJ were you? My in-laws are in Millville

I was in Mt. Laurel and Glassboro, for an exercise convention!! Not a special locale, but a great time.
