Chicken noodle soup

Well its starting to get cold here and soup prices (from a can) are really expensive. I'd like to make a lot of soup and gradually eat it over the winter. my problem is whenever I try to make some the noodles get mushy. Is there a specific type of noodles good for soup? like egg noodles or something? I dont cook the noodles seperately, I just add them in with the rest.

thanks

And get the Lipton kind.

If you leave noodles in liquid they'll get mushy. You could freeze them separately from the soup in serving sized batches. Then grab some noodles and frozen soup when you're ready for a dish. Or cook some fresh as you heat your stored soup.

You don't think they're mushy? Boy, I do! At least, I remember them as being mushy -- it's been a long time since I ate the canned stuff, since homemade is so easy and so much better. ;)
