Cookie Question

Hi Everyone,

I am doing some holiday cookies and decided to try and freeze some of the dough to use later. I used a cookie scoop and put the indvidual cookies on a wax lined tray and put them in the freezer. After they set up I moved them to a freezer bag. I am hoping to be able to use these when I send my son boxes of goodies while he is away in the Navy.

My questions are:

1. Should i defrost the cookie dough before baking?

2. How long can I keep the dough in the freezer.

Thanks

Yes, thaw first (after lining them up on the pan), and they'll usually keep frozen about 5 months, wrapped airtight.

And good luck to your son. Thank him for his service on our behalf.

Hi Everyone,

I will pass along your good wishes to my son. He will be leaving for Basic Training in early FEB. and will be taking his Basic Training at Great Lakes. The only reason he hasn't left yet is that he wanted to be home for Christmas and the Super Bowl. He's a huge Colts Fan.

I plan on sending him alot of big boxes of goodies. That way he will know we are thinking about him, and with plenty of my top notch, real butter baked goods to share, he should be able to make friends pretty quickly.

BTW, I sure do appreciate all of the excellent advice here.

Duke
