Chef Bayless:

It's wonderful having you here on Cheftalk. Thank you so much for spending this time with us.

My first culinary inpsiration with a Hispanic chef who owned a little hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, (American Mexican more than authentic Mexican). In any event his food was delicious and he taught me how to make a number of dishes.

He always put corn in his Pico de Gallo. I haven' seen anyone else use corn.

Is corn an ingredient in traditional Pico de Gallo?

Thank you,

Mark

Salsa Mexicana--Pico de gallo

Hi Mark,

The flavors of Mexico's quintessential, eponymous salsa (in Mexico Salsa Mexicana--pico de gallo on our side of the border) includes garlic, fresh hot chiles, tomatoes, cilantro, onion, salt and fresh lime juice.
