Red Velvet Cake

Hello,

I’m looking for a good Red Velvet Cake recipe for Valentines Day. I also would like to find a heart shaped cake pan. I know kind of late to be thing about this now:o . I have a heart shaped muffin pan that I can use but I’d like to find a cake pan. Can anybody help me out? Thanks!

Use a square cake pan. After baking, turn it so it's a diamond and trim the top to a heart shape.

Thanks phatch.

I was also told on a different forum that I could use one square pan and one round pan. Turn the square piece to look like a diamond and cut the round piece in half and use the two halves to make a heart.

i saw some heart shaped cake pans at Target in their valentines section.... and you can probably find a recipe on epicurious.com

(i cant figure out how to paste my recipe on here.. )

I didn’t see anything at Target last week when I was there but I’ll just have to check it out again this week. Maybe they were just out of stock when I was there. I’ll check out epicurious.com too. Thanks so much!:bounce:

This works for me as well... oh i just realized that this thread is old already but anyway even valentines day is still far away, our 20th anniversary is coming up in 6 weeks and your Red Velvet Cake is the perfect idea for the special day. :-)
