Intro: Do you use a bread machine?

The most common question I get when I bring loaves anywhere, regardless of the shape. Kills me every time :) "Oooh, how pretty! It looks like a wreath! Did you use a bread machine?" To answer, I hold up my hands and say, "Yes, here it is."

Hi, everyone! I realized I had made a few posts and never introduced myself, so here goes.

My name's Joe, I'm 30 years old, and a computer programmer by trade. I'm a hobbiest woodturner, cyclist, photographer, musician, and anything else I can get my hands on.

I looooove to bake bread. I started out with quick breads (I learned to bake Irish Soda Bread in my 6th grade home economics class!), and gradually moved into more complicated/time consuming yeast breads. Since I bought the Bread Baker's Apprentice, my skills and bread quality have risen dramatically.

I also enjoy cooking, in general. I'm quite fond of grilling, but I'm trying to expand my repertiore in all directions. I'm considering taking some cooking courses to learn how to build meals with some direction, instead of just winging it.

I like making candy - I made some brittles that were out of this world. I'd love to learn sugar art.

Oooh, and Guinness. Liquid bread

Cheers!

Welcome, Joe! You probably know about our great baking forum, and the chance to learn and connect with experienced bakers (professional and non). A good number of people here who are in computer-related areas. Maybe there's something about cooking and baking that complements that.

Make yourself comfortable and enjoy the site.

Regards,
Mezzaluna
