Malt Syrup Question..
ChefTalk.com Top Picks
Malt syrup for baking and beer is made by extracting it from barley. You will probably see it labeled Barley Malt Syrup.
Are ya making something?
I'm making Kaiser rolls and my recipe calls for malt barley syrup and I couldn't find it, so I bought a bottle of Molasses, however, I'm going out in the morning and hopefully, I'll try a few more stores like Trader Joe's, Saveway, or the organic markets.
I have my pate fermentee in the frig to incorporate into my bread dough in the morning and since this will be my first time making these rolls (for steak sandwiches for dinner tomorrow night) taste fantastic, like the east coast hoagie rolls.
I'm excited because the recipe describes the rolls and having that thin, crispy layer and light tender on the inside. I want them to be as described.
