Linburgh lettuce?

Thread Starter
Hello, I am planning for my upcoming wedding, and I am creating a menu for our guests' place settings. Our caterer is making a salad using what he calls "Linburgh" lettuce. The term came up in spell check, and I've been unable to find such a variety on the Web. I found one cafe online that called it "Lindbergh" lettuce, but that was the only such reference. If possible, I wanted to double check the spelling before I print the menus and stand corrected by one of our guests. Does anyone know, is that such a variety of lettuce, and how is it properly spelled? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!! :chef:

Are you sure he didn't say "iceberg" lettuce? That's the common, round-headed type you find in the grocery store.

Here's a picture of it (top photo on the page): http://www.theherbspiral.com/info/LettuceVarieties.htm

Beth,

It is unnecessary to crosspost the same post three times in three different forums. Just click on the New Posts option at the top of your screen. Your other identical threads will be deleted.

You are likely receiving little response because no one knows the answer.

It does sound vaguely familiar to me but I am not finding verification. Just call your caterer and ask. Tell them why you are asking. If they do not provide a sufficient response, ask them where they obtained their supply so you can call their source for information. If you find out, let us know.
