shroomgirl, apparently "balut" means duck, and such dishes appeal to those who cant wait for the animal to actually grow.

So next time i get a hurry up on a poached egg, punter beware.

LOL There will be a run on baluts from women reading this thread and sticking them in their lover's stocking....How many? How long?
Can you imagine the look on their unsuspecting faces.....it does what? ARE YOU SURE?......Seems like they should come with directions or a disclaimer....
