Naturally Saltless Food.

Thread Starter
Earlier I was having a discussion with some of my friends about salt. Well the topic came up if there are any foods out there that naturally do not contain any salt. I searched the internet and I couldn't find anything. So I was wondering if you guys could help.

Thanks

Water. Not all water, and most water tastes better with minute quantities of salt.

Oil. As salt can't dissolve in it, oil won't carry salt.

But salt is an essential nutrient to everything we raise/grow so it's in the food we eat.

As to the reporting of salt, there's games involved. The FDA rules let you round everything down and portion sizes are sometimes selected to give a fractional result letting them round it down to zero.

Most fresh fruits are very low in sodium (less than 1 mg) or 0 on Nutritional Labels. Apples, oranges, plums, nectarines, cherries, peaches, etc.
