hi, my son will be 6 at the end of the month and is daft on becoming a chef. he has been helping me bake cakes since he was 18 months old and just adores every aspect of being in the kitchen even doing the dishes!!!!!! he makes a mean omellete just now too. when he grows up he wants a family restaurant he will be the head chef with mummy helping in the kitchen, daddy as the waiter and his sister being kitchen porter. for his birthday i have bought him loads of junior cookware from the big cook little cook range, excellent stuff at pretty good prices. but i am also trying to do up his room as well. what i need to know is the names of all of the chefs e.g commis, sous etc and what order they go in. if anyone can help with this info i would be most grateful.
cheers

I don't know if this is a complete or correct list, but I found this at http://whatscookingamerica.net/Q-A/ChefTitles.htm

Executive Chef
Sous Chef
Chef de Partie
Saucier
Confiseur
Poissonier
Friturier
Grillardin
Garde Manger
Patissier
Potager
Rotisseur
Butcher Commis
Tournant
Entremetier

I'm sure if the site's mistaken, someone else'll chime in. And very good luck to your son!

Here ya go. Not only does it have the who's who in traditional, it's also got 'updated' kitchens and a lot of background of restaurant operations.

Demystifying the Restaurant By the way, I'm the author.
