Well, will some one settle an argument for me. When figuring the tip do you use the net sales or gross sales. I say use the net sales why would I figure the tip with the sales tax added in. I also believe that the tip should be an all or nothing thing. If you did a good job you get a tip, if not no tip. I also say 15% is the standard my friends say 20% is the starting point.

I definately think that, if the waitor/waitress doesn't do a good job.. i mean, whether it's rude, or doesn't ask if you need anything, etc. then I would leave a very small tip. like $0.25. This way, they know that you didn't forget to leave the tip, and hmmmm maybe hinting that they should shape up. And my friends always say 30 percent which seems like a little much... like we went out to dinner and it came to 45ish dollars, and we gave her 10!! But, that's just how i feel about it.=)
