:beer: Has anyone done any pairing with Ales and cheese?
I am trying to put together a cheese board for a Fine Brew party of a friends. I would love to hear all your insights!

Monie,

I did this a couple times at a place I was at. Give me a day or two to look for the menu offering and I'll post it. If you could post the Ales you're serving this would help too. Just a couple cheeses off the top of my head are Olde Bruge, Chimmay, 5 year cheddar, 1yr Gruyere, camembert, Nazareth Swiss, Smoked German Bruder Basil, Gjetost.

Actually....it is a vast tasting over an 11 hour period

My friend is trying to email me the list ....but it is too large to go thru email. I believe the list already has over 150 beers on it.........so figure I'll have to generalize my matches. I would like to do artisanal cheeses but having trouble finding some international ones here in Southern California.
Do you know of any good online sources? Party is one month away so I have to start ordering if that is my best option. Thanks.:beer: Monie

This place is in KC and has all the cheeses that I previously listed. If they don't have it or can't get it then it's not available. If you give them a call and describe the ales to them they can provide the perfect choices.

BTW I thought I had a couple hard copies of the menu pairings I did since I lost the computer files in a crash a couple years ago. I came up with Zilch! but the cheeses I listed above I have served with everything from a LaTrappe quad to Ommegang. Just remember to use the correct style of glass and serving temp with those fine ales. Really makes all the difference in the world
