Thread Starter
so last night i did some rather intersting things w/ starfruit tonight on the line. Last night i was fooling around my my grandma and was like a wonder if a starfruit would hit the spot. So one thing lead to another and before u knew it we made magic w/ one of gods most under rated gifts to earth. I woke up this morning and saw the star fruit laying on the floor and was like huh i wonder. So i brought it to work and suateed it off and threw it on top of our choc cake. Boy let me tell u, it was amazing!...I really couldnt tell where the extra flavor was cuming from but w/ everybit it was like a taste a grandmas home made goodness

Thanks, Mezz. ;)

Hey there, Cupcake! The chemistry behind the change in flavor is that when you sauteed the starfruit, you concentrated and caramelized the sugars in it. Same thing that happens when you saute onions. Pretty simple, but pretty amazing, yeah. :lips:

A great drink... a favorite in Guatemala...

Freeze it, blend it and mix some sugar in.

Very refreshing.
