could use some help here

I left everything to go to Israel during the "stormy period". Now I have a bit of a tough time returning. I'm looking for a good projects or a chef position but I'm willing to take my time with that.

What I need right now is part time/short term work. Preferably cash.
I can't seem to be getting that right now. Who knows, maybe other chefs don't want a peer working as muscle. I don't know.

My Unemployment was declined based on a few dollars(I needed to make fifty dollars less on april. Or fifty dollars more february)! Funny if it wan't sad.

Located in philly, and starting to feel the vise. Hate to whine(really) but any body out there got ideas, help

Hit the chains, amigo. They're almost always looking to hire. Sure, it might be a drop in both pay and status, but it's still employment.

Been there, seen it, done it; got the shirt and tie (or as in our case, toque and jacket).

The rub is I'm looking for under the table work. I should be eligible for UC in January. I'm not looking to milk that, but I'm hoping to get a new restaurant off the ground and UC's imperative for that.
Chains are usually by the books, I gather.

Then yes, chain's are NOT the way you want to go. It'd probably be best to find either a pub or a mom and pop's to talk to. I don't know why, but Italian restaurants are fairly good options. Remind them you're want to be there as 'casual labor.'

But also remember, folks now are starting to look forward to their winter/holiday season and may not want 'JUST' casual labor.
