I found this site few days ago, with questions about where to find supplies that are tough to come by in the town where I live. I found answers and more!! I just now found the "welcome" forum so I thought I would say hello. I am not professionally trained, but have been cooking and baking since I was just a little whippersnapper in my grandmother's kitchen (I had to stand in a chair to reach the countertop.) I do some private chef work and do what some refer to as "food art"... non-traditional wedding and special event cakes, sculpture, chocolate and sugar displays, etc. But mostly, I cook for friends and family, so taste is everything to them. I am pleasantly suprised and encouraged that there is such a great wealth of knowledge and information availabe on this site....and even I have occasional good advice. :)
