Tapenas. Anyone know what this terms refer to?

Do you mean Tapas? It's Spanish bar food. Little nibbles of a wide variety of delicacies.

Or perhaps you mean Tapenade. A specialty of Provence in the south of France. It is a paste made from olives, anchovies, capers and other flavorings.

yes, it's the Provencal word meaning 'capers'. thus, the origin of 'tapenade'.
