Kitchenaid Pro 6 whip attachment

Thread Starter
I have a Kitchenaid Professional 6 mixer and lost the original wire whip. I bought a new replacement from a dealer and it does not fit the spindle properly: it scrapes the bottom of the bowl and rattles around the spindle. I tried 2 other dealers with the same result.

Why is this?? The dealer said that the new parts are made in China and are not as good. I have a much older Kitchenaid that is 1 size smaller, and that spindle has a spring and washer to hold the attachments firm. The Pro 6 does not have the spring, but the original hook and paddle do not rattle around on the spindle like this new whip.

Has anyone else had this problem? The new whip also seems more narrow than the old one; it's not much wider than the whip for the smaller mixer, but the Pro 6 bowl is really a good deal wider.

So I am now looking for an ORIGINAL wire whip attachment for the Pro 6. The base is stainless steel, not aluminum like the replecements.

You got 2 options.

(1). Go to the KA website and order a new one or

(2). Go to E-Bay and search Kitchen Aid Mixers you should find one there.

Kitchen Aids mixer attachments all attach the same way but do not fit the same way as you know.

The KA6 Pro is an expensive mixer and a good one.

Tap,
I look in storage, it won't be till next Wed.
The newer ones are definately diff. I did pick up a couple for 325. no ship no tax and the 50. rebate. 275. not to shabby. They are loud though. If I didn't get a couple I would have thought something was wrong.
