Tiering a Charlotte

Has anyone had the experience of stacking (tiering) a charlotte? I have seen a couple of photos where this is done but do not know how it was done. This would mean tiering layers that gradually get smaller, just as it's done with a wedding cake. I'm not sure if the standard wedding cake stack approach where dowels are used would work for a charlotte. Any experience?

If you layer some cake in there with the filling, and make sure you have gelatin to stabilize the cream, you should be able to stack it like a wedding cake.
