Help me identify this frying pan

I inherited a frying pan, it's orange on the outside and a heavy light gray enamel on the inside. It weighs a ton but I just love using it. It's huge too. It has sloping sides. I would love to get another but have been unable to find one (knowing the name of this brand would help). The handle is long gone (I think it was wood but don't remember) but I use it anyway because there's still enough metal handle to hold it. I would just like a little smaller one. Nothing sticks to it either and it heats wonderfully. Anybody out there know??? Thanks.

Defiantelt sounds like Le Cruset, French Enamel Cookware.

I had thought so too because of the color, but I swear, as heavy as this is, it's got to be cast iron under the enamel. It's really old. I've looked at their site and nothing by the shape or make up resembles what I have, only the color. Oh well, when I die, my daughter-in-law will garage sale it for $ .10, lol

No! Please don't let her....let me adopt the heavy little thing and I'll give it a good home!:suprise:
It is an older version of le crueset cookware. I have one that must be its little brother-the crepe pan version. I got it in 1972 when I first learned to make crepes as a teenager.
le crueset changes their styles and colors every several years. That's why you can usually get good deals on them at Marshall's and TJ Maxx stores. That's probably why you don't see that version on their website.

I'll tell my son to just post my obituary on here when I go...lol...believe me, there will be lots of good bargains in that garage sale, lol. (DIL can't boil water, lol). I figured it was an older version and I haven't seen one as heavy by that manufacturer. Knowing my mother, she bought it from a garage sale for no more than $ .25, lol in the early 60's or 70's.

This is a Le Creuset pan. Is it similar to yours? Fits the description it seems.

In North Carolina, there is a Le Creuset outlet and I got really good prices on some items there.

Pretty darn close, except the sides are more sloped, interior is light gray and it doesn't have that second little helper handle. I do remember that handle though. Thanks for taking the time!!! Now, if I can just get someone to help me with choosing a counter top fryer, I'll die happy, lol. I'm looking at the commercial Star or Waring. Where is that outlet?
