Brown color to drop cookies

I'm having some trouble getting my drop cookies to get a brownish color to them. If I keep it in the oven for too long the bottoms will burn. I would like to get more of a brownish color to them without using an egg wash. Would brushing them with milk work? I would really like some help

Welcome to Cheftalk sistaworkin. It would help if you could post the recipe. It sounds like something within the recipe of the cookie itself could be adjusted.

If you like the formula and don't want to tinker then just double pan and move them a little higher in the oven.

Try Brown Sugar

Try substituting some dark brown sugar for 25-50% of the sugar in your recipe (all of mine are about 60 brown to 40 white.). You could also try upping the butter and decreasing the milk.
