Well, I spent a few days there a couple of years ago......and remember zip. That kinda says it all.....nothing worth remembering either good or bad....but there was a really cool optical illusion museum on the maindrag by the river front.
Well, it's pretty country, lol. but not exactly the culinary capital of the world there. Hop on up to St. Louis and Schroomgirl could probably find you something to eat. Been there several times but like Schroomgirl, can't remember anything eating anything remarkable.
As I recall there are a whole lotta theme style simple food places with not outstanding food....it's all really mediocre. Though if you are going to be there during corn season, just outside of town you can stop at corn fields and buy a dozen ear fresh picked and eatum without cooking....NOW THAT WAS MEMORABLE>
Eastern Missouri may have a whole lotta pork but we are not known for BBQ....that would be KC, MO....other side of the state. And amazingly it's pretty much just in that city, the rest is mediocre at BEST. BBQ can be found 5 hours south in Memphis.
But then there's alway's Larry Forgione's An American Place in beautiful downtown STL.....(hint)
