Peanut Oil. Do you like it?

I'm considering giving up vegetable oil for peanut oil.
Do you like peanut oil? Why or why not?

vegetable oil is largely just soy bean oil.

Peanut oil is a great frying oil. I don't think it's as neutral flavored as other oils out there. As I recall there are also healthier general purpose oils such as grapeseed oil.

Peanut oil has a place in my cooking but it's a small niche for me.

I use peanut oil (not Planters tho!) with all my stir-frys.. Peanut oil, and a splash of pure sesame oil. I just think its a much nicer flavor..
I use canola, evoo, or half evoo and half butter for everything else.
I did read on here in one of the threads that someone thought that canola oil smelled fishy?? Never had that problem with mine.. Its nice and neutral, no real smell to it at all..

I tend to use peanut oil only for stirfry dishes. I think it has a flavour which might be offputting in some dishes.

I use sunflower oil as my 'neutral' oil in most dishes.

That was yours truly. Maybe it's one of those things like cilentro tasting soapy to some people.

I love peanut oil but I won't use it for some recipes that unknown people will eat. For example, if I make a quick bread or other treat that will be shared with others I use soybean oil. These days, who knows who has a peanut allergy? My grandmother preferred it as well for frying. I love it for stir fries.

I love peanut oil for some things. Frying corn tortillas, for example, its just a perfect fit. I agree its good for "asian" themed foods, or stir frying, as it gives a nice light mouth feel when something is cooked quick. I even have a couple of salad dressings I use it for excusively.

I use it for stir fries and deep fries. No complaints (other than cost).

My only issue with peanut oil would be allergies, otherwise its almost perfect in my opinion.

It's high smoke point makes it ideal for sautes or stir frys. I like it a lot.

Peanut Oil is best in Stir-Frys and Sautes as said earlier...and I have used it with Sesame Oil...however, the only other time I see Peanut Oil being used by others is mainly in Thai food.

If anything I just use Olive Oil, all my parents will buy anyways...I have to buy my own Peanut Oil and the likes.
