Minmum wage in BC is going up to $8.00 an hour on November 1, and anyway I just saw on the news today that the BC restaurant association, is lobbying the government for staggered wages so that new staff that need to be trained or staff earning gratuities can be left at $7.60 an hour. I don't understand why the upper brass of the restaurant industry will always say that staffing is the biggest expense.

Seems so long ago now when I worked at Macdonald's in North Vancouver for less than $4 an hour because that was the minimum wage back then.
