Just wondering if anyone has ever been to this event before. If so, what are some of the cool things you have seen there? My husband and I are thinking of going there tomorrow.

Kelleybean, I hope you weren't too disappointed by the Burlington Chocolate Festival. After talking about going for many years, last year my wife and I went with our daughter and four other little girls.

There sure wasn't much in the way of chocolate other than the couple of tables under one tent. We were disappointed. The kids were not. A couple boxes of fudge and all those rides and they were content. They also loved the duck races.

I've lived in southeastern Wisconsin for 33 years but have never gone. What's more, no one I know has either. Maybe that's why.

Did you go, Kelleybean?

We've gone a few times over the years. In some respects, the name belies the festival activities. I'd describe it more as a Spring festival, carnival like in many respects, with some chocolate exhibits and vendors. Many of the stores in town use this time to have special sales. Nestles is, of course, located in Burlington so ... There is a parade and live entertainment, but can be disappointing if you are expecting all things chocolate. OTOH, it's just a fun family festival, enjoy!

I'd give up chocolate...
But I'm no quitter!

Hello,

Gahtan – Yes, I am in fact a HUGE fan of chocolate.:lips: I will have to check out that book. Are there recipes and stuff in there? Just last week I made a cheese cake with a chocolate ganache on top for my mom for a belated Mother’s Day gift. I have always loved making chocolate molds for gifts for various occasions and will attempt to make some chocolate truffles soon.

Mezzaluna - We never did go this weekend and from the sounds of things I didn’t miss out on much. My reason for wanting to go was to A. See if I could find a vender that sold Lindt Chocolate and B. Hopefully see some neat chocolate works of art. It has always amazed me to see some of the artwork that can be done with chocolate.

Thanks so much for all of your opinions on the festival.
