Sort of a cooking equipment question.. BBQ brushes??

What's the best type to buy? I've paid anywhere from $ 2 bux up to $20 odd bux for what I thought was a pretty good BBQ brush..
I am having nothing but bad luck with them all.. Either the wires start falling out right away, or they are flattened to nothing in no time!

I have cast iron grills on this BBQ and am starting to wonder if thats why the brushes get so ratted up so fast??

Just thought I'd find out what you all might use for cleaning your grills, and how well they stand up?
Thanks so much..

I have a Progressive silicone model that I like very much. You can set it down without needing a saucer and it cleans up completely in the dishwasher.

Here it is:

I think Joyful means a wire bristle brush for cleaning off the grates.

I've found most of the ones sold for the purpose to be soft bristled. Go to a hardware store and buy something with a medium bristle. The hard bristles are too hard in my opinion. And the soft too mushy.

Or take a look at Steve Raichlen's special brush.

I haven't used it, but I expect he'd design a pretty good one. Seems to have a replaceable head which is nice.

All of them will lose bristles now and then. Just the way wire brushes are. But if you wipe the grill grate down with an oiled paper towel before cooking, you'll dislodge any stray wires.

 Oops... you're right. I read too fast.

I use the stiff wire bristled brushes with the scraper on the end. I go through a few of them every grilling season (5-6 months or so). I admit my grates are not pristine though.
