So, did anyone see this seasons first installment?
A friend of mine is included in the mix!:bounce:
Any feed back?
Who's got the chops to win????

I saw the show. It was a lot like Top Chef - in fact, it seemed identical in format and setup. Who is your friend?

Too early to guess who may win - none seem to have "star quality," but the environment in which they're working is so contrived and arificial.

I saw it last night, and was appaled at how they spent---or, rather, didn't spend---their food budgets.

Orange team had $2,300 and spent less than 800 to cater a wedding. Do these people know anything about food service?

I wouldn't presume to guess who'll make the final cut. The criteria used by the judges are often 180 degress from what they say they are.

I must say, for a wedding I would have gone with

caviar
scallops
vegi caviars
fresh crackers
fresh bread stix
salmon
lobster
morells
duck
oysters
brioch
fillo
foie gras
vegi pates
chocolate
chocolate
chocolate
more, more, more!!!!!!

23.00 per guest, just for food??? a kings ransome!:p

100 people is a small wedding broken up amoung 5 people and the cake is done!!!

(easy for me to say, i'm not in the middle of it :bounce:)

my money is on Salmon, best cook and he had a fun radio show!

I think Nikki has a good shot. She has a good theme and there are no "soul food" chefs on foodnetwork. I think she might appeal to a decent-sized audience.

I like the big Italian guy's personality, but we already have Emeril (and Mario) and that guy is self-taught.

I hope Columbe wins because I want to learn and incorperate her style into my own cooking.

I saw part of it, so the "firing" didn't really fit together for me. But I'll want to watch the rest of it. I wasn't impressed by Colombe's "leadership" style, but it may be because she's so YOUNG.

Come on, MBrown, who's your friend?
