Not only new to Chef Talk, but new also to internet forums. Took me a while to find out where to type my intro.
I've been cooking for a family of five for over fifty years. Always learning.
Need to know what the refrigerator shelf life is of 4 oz. jars of chopped garlic.
Look forward to meeting you all.

Hello Darlene! Welcome to our community. It's no small feat to make family meals for that many years. You deserve a great deal of respect for that.
I'm a home cook myself (since age 9 or 10) so I know.
Please have a look around the forums. Don't miss the cooking articles, cookbook reviews and recipes! If you have a question about how the board works or how to do something here please click on my name (or any moderator's name) on the right side of the main page and send a Private Message (PM). We'll be happy to answer a question for you. We're volunteer-members and may be away from our computers while we do our day jobs or other obligations, but we will get back to you.
We hope you enjoy participating and hope to see you often!
Regards,
Mezzaluna

Hi, I am so glad you welcome all food lovers. I love to cook. I am not a chef, do watch Food Network and love to try new things. I especially am looking for recipes that are low salt and low fat; yet,..............taste good, too.
It's exciting here. So, far, it seems a nice friendly place to be. I hope I will be able to share, too. Diane
