superbad...movie

ok, I'm going to the theatres an awful lot during this heat wave....sometimes for 2x.....happens every 6 mos or so.......

Superbad, what a great pubescent guy movie. The characters except the police are spot on. Teenage angst is spelled out perfectly. I laughed at this one....may see it again, which is saying alot since movies are now $6-8.50 at the theatres.

I saw Superbad with my son last Saturday. Glad I'm not a teenager.
I did like the policemen, they were a riot. One of them is a former Tulsan.

Seems like I've seen more movies lately than I have in a long time, I really enjoy it, I saw Mr. Brooks last night, and am going to the Bourne Ultimatum Monday p.m.

As for pricing, the first movie of the day was only $4 on Saturday. If I go to the regular price movie, I ask for the senior discount.

Anyone else seen any good movies lately?

I saw "Becoming Jane" yesterday. It was lovely- for those of us who are Jane Austen fans! There were two men and about 40 women in the theater. Pity more men don't read her; they'd learn a lot about women!

I'd like to see "Rocket Science", and I suspect my husband will too.

just saw nannie diaries....not worth it, book was better and that's not saying much.

Becoming Jane was lovely.

Mezz you would probably enjoy Superbad....just be prepared for alot of male anitomical talk/drawings/jokes/.......one of the better teenage movies I've seen.

Such a deal! Here we're looking @ $8.00 - 9.00 for a bargain matine or senior price. $10.00 is pretty much standard in these parts. Really sucks since I remember paying 25-cents to get into a show, with a double feature, newsreal, and cartoon, and for another 25-cents we could stuff ourselves with candy and pop.

well yeah.....and I can remember penny candy too, dime cokes, nickle candy bars......gum cost a penny. My parents gave me their spending ledger for the year I was born....and that was even more eye opening......
I remember umpteen years ago being in NYC must have been close to 20ish years and a movie was $8 or was it $10....anyway, my jaw dropped, sticker shock set in and thus we didn't see a movie.

So, there are bargain second run houses that cost 3/6 dollars
First Run house matinees cost $6-6.75 and at one theatre early bird $4 prior to noon
reg. cost movies are right at $8.

I don't buy from concessions, but have a value card that adds up sales points and occasionally gifts me with a "medium popcorn or $4 off a combo"

I think we're at $6.50 for a matinee, and if you buy the ticket online they add a $1 service charge.

Until February there was a multi-screen, privately-owned theater near our home that charged $4 for shows before 5:00 and had unlimited, serve-yourself popcorn and soda refills. Now all the theaters near us are owned by one corporation (Marcus). The latest theater in their flock combined two venues into one 16-screen comples with two "ultra screens", meal service, a full bar, child care, free valet parking, ice cream shop, pizza shop and live comedy venue. We'll see how long the ticket price above holds. Concessions are outrageous; we paid $15 for two small sodas and a large tub of popcorn. One thing I will say in their defense is that they have twice as many women's restrooms as they have for men. :D
