Well, that didn't take long.

Some of you may recall that I posted a few messages asking for thoughts on making the jump to General Manager, and then I posted that I had done it. Well...

Life is always full of opportunities to learn, and this is what I learned: I do not like Dallas, Texas, nor do I like crappy franchised, Mexican restaurants. I learned a real lesson. Never again will I work for a franchise that has it's head so far up where the sun don't shine that it can not see it's way to reason. ****, I didn't even get the build out completed before I told my corporate masters that I needed to get back to a place where I could actually cook. They were understanding, but the franchise group was quite displeased. I think they had ideas of stealing me from the hotel group that hired me. When I left I made it very clear that I would never work for them as they are a bunch of bigoted, racist, jerks who get by on underpaid, Mexican labor. I won't go so far as to say they use illegal labor, but I will say the whole operation was pretty **** sketchy.

I am sure that there are franchises out there that are not like what I just experienced, but it will be awhile before I get the taste out of my mouth.

So, I am looking for a new job. Anyone know of anything open in the Western, MA, Southern, NH, VT tri state region? I am preferably looking to work for people that are, um... human.

Good to be back.

Sadly, I think we've all had an unfortunate experience like yours. Take heart though, we have all learned and grown through these experiences. I hope your next endeavour is more successful. Good luck!
Just my opinion though....
