Good morning all, today im looking for some suggestions or inspiration for a dish for my neighbors birthday it is saturday, were having half a shindig on friday and his wife asked me to make a dish for dinner. Little history a couple months ago i went to his wifes birthday and made a pasta dish for them, they loved it that why she asked me to make something for his sepcial day: i basically made a artichoke, asparagus, gorgonzola cream sauce to go over some fettachini (sp) it also had some asparagus spears incorporated with it topped with a grilled chicken breast. she asked me to make the same thing, but im thinking something different and exciting. but my brain is everywhere between working, and trying to find ideas and searching for a pool table to buy. ohh yea im not a chef or had any professional training but i am quite competent in the kitchen. i have a basic pasta recipe probably off of here ( will that work for ravoli? ) at first is was thinking of making home made ravoli with chicken, spinich and cream sauce but i dont have any of thoes cool little ravoli makers but i figure go oldschool and seal with a fork. that should work fine right? with ravoli do you have to let rest after filling pasta or flour or just boil when ready to make? i am planning on making everything from scratch no shortcuts. then i was thinking maybe doing a twist on some stuffed bell peppers instead of the hamburger stuffing make with pepperoni cream cheese ect...(sorta pizza toppings), but thats seems kind fit for a childs party (pizza and all). i was also think of doing a crab stuffed mushroom but instead of doing stuffed mushroom i was thinking of using portabellas and more of a crabcake on top, but not sure if thoes flavors would infuse each other. well im rambling so lets here your ideas. thanks for listening and of course helping a chef at heart.
