Thought this would be an interesting topic to start. Im acutaly suprised that no one else started it already. Anyway what do you all plan on doing with your turkies this year?

Im thinking of taking the turkey, making a mixture of butter, citrus juice and zest and fresh herbs and slideing it all under the skin to not only keep the meat moist but the skin nice and flavorfull. The skin will hold it all under and on the meat.

Im also planning on making a few different bread dips as a app.

Im from the old school.Simple simple,no brines or rubs, just a good stuffing which is cooked inside the turkey.Thats it, served with potatoes turnips green beans. and of coarse jellied cranberries.Simple but delicious.

This is my first year as a meat eater in about 4 years, so I kind of want to try a Turkey. ****, I know about everything else (grain of salt please), might as well learn how to cook meat.

I'm trying to convince my parents to brine the turkey this year, but I don't think they will unless one of my mom's girlfriends tells her about brining and she will magically become interested.

Not into "injecting" flavor. We have a deep fryer as well, and those always come out good because it is a dry method and it keeps the juices inside. It's fast too.
