Turkey warning

I was moving some things around in the spare fridge. This involved moving a LARGE turkey around that is thawing for the main event later this week. Since I was bent over and lifting and twisting at weird angles I tweaked my back a bit. Not bad but a touch sore. I know better but sometimes it still sneaks up and gets ya.

Just a reminder to lift those heavy turkeys carefully, especially in and out of a hot oven.

Make sure you wear shoes when you're lifting the turkey out of the oven. A number of years ago, my sister-in-law spilled fat and juice from a roasting pan on her feet while only wearing socks, and suffered some pretty serious second degree burns. Some of the skin on the top of her feet came right off with the socks.

Actually shoes should always be worn in the kitchen. I think it's common sense.

Turkey AND a Packer game. Now that's a Thanksgiving.
