Hello from a new culinary student

Hello everyone!

I am a new culinary student- and very excited about school. Right now I am a bartender at a fine dining restaurant on the southern Maine coast. My love for cooking, food, and wine plus the experience of working in the restaurant inspired me to pursue a formal culinary education.

I can't wait to read more of the forums and learn all I can from you.

Hello Nichole and welcome to Chef Talk. I hope you enjoy the cooking articles, cookbook reviews, recipes, photo gallery and- oh yes, the forums! We have a good search tool to help you wade through it all. We have a good forum for culinary students, and hope you investigate it as well.

I'm intrigued by how far mixology has come in recent years, with attention to flavors and aromas that were only hinted at in the past. Who'd have thought we'd see grape-flavored vodka!? In the right hands I'm sure delicious concoctions result.

I hope you enjoy the site and visit often. We'll look forward to your participation, too.
