Really Great Avocados at COSTCO

We've bought several bags of five avocados for $6 at COSTCO and been delighted every time. They're BIG - 9 to 9.5 ounces each, and they ripen to perfection with three to five days' sitting on the counter, and then into the fridge to hold for pretty quick use.

We're celebrating shrimp-stuffed-avacado week right now. We use Emeril's recipe for Remoulade sauce and wash it all down with TJ's cheap Schloss Biebrich champagne. At $5 it's about the same cost as a couple good beers. And, it's pretty good to boot.

It's living large... on the cheap.

It's funny because the avocados here in alberta at the local Costco are the same as you describe which is no surprise as I am sure that all the outlets use the same distributor. I find certain things are some of the best available the area such as navel oranges and asparagus that is until the farmer's markets open up for the season which in my neck of the woods is May long weekend (May 17 - 19) Ughhh.....Why did I just remind myself of that??:(

My COSTCO avos are from Mexico, and they most definitely are Hass.
(I lived in Santa Barbara for six years, and I know my avocados.) :)
