Hello, my name is Georgi Todorov and I live on Long Island, NY. I'm looking for the best way make my home cooking better. That is I want to cook good food for my family. I do know how to cook but my education comes from my mother, watching the Food Network and executing recipes in various books.

I am considering an amateur program like FCI's Essentials of Fine Cooking or Culinary Techniques. Maybe that's not going to help me? I don't know. That's why I'm asking you to help me. Should I go for a good program (like the Culinary Techniques at FCI) and what is a good one, or should I keep cooking at home following more sophisticated recipes?
