Thanks for the welcome Mezz. I guess my love of cooking comes from my love of eating. Also working away from home exposes you to so many different recipies and dishes. My mom AND dad were both great cooks. I have traveled for work living from my camper trailer so cooked alot of my own meals. Nothing elaborate but it made me learn about seasoning food and trying something different. Having worked with different cultures also opens up a new view of food and how it is cooked. The part of Angola where I work is kinda remote and sometimes logistics is kinda slow. All of our food comes from either Portugal or South Africa. The company I work for is American based but we have about 20 different nationalities in our shop. We do not always eat at the messhall but cook for ourselves. So there is a lot of different cooking styles and I enjoy learning about each. I will try and post simple recipies from time to time. Maybe Thai currie, gumbo, wamba sauce, sum thum or whatever. Lat Sunday I smoked a large turkey and grilled thick cut pork chops. Made potato salad and beans with sausage. NOTHING was left. We do have a good time. Thanks for letting me be here.
