Anniversary Dinner Ideas

Thread Starter
My parents anniversary is on February 23rd and I was wondering if anyone could help me come up with something that is a "WOW" factor. I want to make something that is a real taste sensation...

I like to do something special every year, but I am having a hard time thinking of something to make them this year for a dinner.

I also want something that isn't extremely hard or time consuming. I don't really have difficulty with the level of cooking because I am pretty experienced in the kitchen, but I just don't want to spend 3 or 4 hours in the kitchen either.

I would appreciate any advice!

P.S. I wouldn't mind doing courses either, if I could prep everything ahead of time so that it's not a big headache in the kitchen.

Oh, and here is a list of foods my dad doesn't like:

Onions
Leeks
Scallions
Shallots
Broccoli
Asparagus

My mum likes almost everything... Hehe. Although, they both LOVE garlic. I hope this helps.

Cummon folks! Don't all jump in at once. :D

I think a simple plain pan saute'd item finished in the oven served with a sauce made from pan juices is always appropriate. Then again, I'm showing my bias.
