Just bought it, and tried, and tried...
It seems to be working fine, but the icecream never thickens. Not when I used cream from cans, and not when I used whipping cream The ingredients were always cold... So what am I doing wrong??? Help!

What kind of ice cream maker is it?

I use the electric old-fashion Rival where you have to keep adding salt and ice. After a few times of very thin ice cream, my dad told me that I needed to use more salt. I wasn't getting it cold enough to firm it up. I tried it and it works great.

This one doesn´t need salt, it´s a Cuisinart Classic Frozen Yogurt-Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker. But the only thing it has been making is liquid ice cream!

Have you tried the salt? That gets the cooling below 32 degrees. The method you are using might work for frozen yogurt but not for ice "cream" ?

With a higher cream content, it probably needs to be colder.

I think allie got it. If it wasn't made for use with salt, you might have to get a different one to make real ice cream.

are you chilling the container down ??

my icecream machine says it has to be in the freezer for 12 hours before putting your icecream in to the machine
