White wine and Marsala sauce?

Has anyone heard of a marsala sauce that includes white wine?A local restaurant serves this amazing filet marsala topped with crabmeat dish.I tried making this dish @ home with somewhat decent results. So everytime i go there i try to get more and more info out of the chef. One of the problems ive had was the sauce.Although the flavor was close, it just wasnt as bold as the original no matter how much i reduced it.So last time i went there i asked about the sauce and i was told it was a white wine marsala and herb sauce.I never heard of a marsala sauce using white wine, and ive searched the net and couldnt find any marsala sauces that list white wine as an ingredient.Any help is appreciated.

Here is a Marsala Sauce using Marsala wine. Is it close enough that you could sub white wine?

maybe both wines are reduced for the sauce? otherwise, I cannot imagine what a "white wine Marsala" sauce would be.

And also, a lot of times when servers don't know the answer to something, they just make one up. Make sure you are getting accurate answers.

The server personally asked the chef (she went right over and asked him) When i asked about it being a marsala i mentioned that the sauce didnt taste like there chicken marsala so she must have asked what was different, and i suppose he said he adds white wine.I dont know if this is a traditional recipe or not.I came across a recipe that mentioned using a sweet marsala instead of a dry marsala and adding white wine so its not too sweet.I dont know if thats what the chef does to the sauce, but it is a kinda sweet sauce.I just figured if this is a common way of making a marsala sauce, then someone here might know about it.
