Afra,
I think he meant "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder" meaning he HAS to know everything about breadmaking. :D

Reinhart @Sur La Table

Peter Reinhart, of Crust & Crumb and Brother Juniper fame, is teaching 2 classes at Sur La Table in Manhasset NY (on Long Island). Thursday August 16th @6:30 PM there is a demonstration class called Bread Upon the Waters: The 12 Stages of Bread Baking. Friday August 17th @10:00 AM there is a hands on class called Sourdough for Beginners. The demo class is $55 and the hands on is $100. As I seem to suffer from Bread OCD, I am going to both. The # for the store is 516-365-3297. Submitted FYI.

Kyle, that was a great read, and a nice looking bread. Glad to hear what a great learning experience that was.

I'm glad you enjoyed your classes with Peter Reinhart.

I just put his newest "Bread Baker's Apprentice : Making Classic Breads With the Cutting Edge Techniques of a Bread Master" on my wishlist...and it's your fault!

It IS my fault. That concept makes life with my girlfriend a lot easier :)

The new book sounds pretty cool. He won a bread contest and the prize was this trip where he spent 5 days with 5 different breadmakers in Europe. He was the apprentice.

I'm going back into the lab tomorrow!

A very big thank you to m brown! Thursday and Friday I spent a total of 6 hours learning from Peter Reinhart. It was awesome. He will be back in the New York area in November. If you have the chance to see him, I would recommend it highly.
