You know who you are.
Music to me is like cooking. You put in the right ingredients, and the right fire, and everybody goes crazy!
I've been a blues musician for most of my life, and recently got into cooking. It's amazing to me how these art forms are almost the same. You use good ingredients, and get it from what you've learned, add some heart and soul, then you got good music and food.

The Blues is like good food. It's honest, and tells a story. No BS about it.
Well, maybe a little.:)
Who else here loves the Blues?

I once heard B B King compare the Blues to a Po'Boy. You gotta hoe your long row then you can have your Po'boy.

A good friend just gave me the cd of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings' "100 Days, 100 Nights" Man, it smokes!
IMHO, Amy Winehouse is a complete rip-off of Ms. Jones-even took her band to do her recordings.

Have also been listening to some other blue-eyed R&B by James Hunter. I also recently went to see Taj Mahal at "The Egg". That man's still got it all.

I'm most definitely a fan of Blues. Classical music and jazz too. I'm listening to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones right now . . . brilliantly combines styles.

Up untill a few years ago, wasn't much of a blues or jazz fan. Matter of fact wasn't much of any kind of a music fan, since I grew up in a house and neighborhood that didn't really think that music was important. Matter of fact even the school I went to pretended music didn't exist.

Things changed when I opened up my own business in '97 and, among other things, inherited a cra**y old radio that was pretty much glued onto a shelf above the prep table. Tuner was stuck/glued/jammed to CBC (Cdn Broadcasting Corp) At first I was horrified, as CBC was only for old farts, and the only good thing CBC did was cover Hockey-on TV.... So eventully I got introduced properly to classical, jazz, and blues. These I enjoy very much. I also found out I can't stand Opera, in any of it's three forms: European, Oriental, or American (Broadway musicals...) CBC also does a pretty good job of covering alot of Indy stuff, which is verty refreshing, and it is also commercial free.

Still haven't seen anyone live yet, though...
