Hello everyone!! I am so happy to have found this site I could just scream!! I am a 39 yr. old woman, living in the southwest USA. I am employed by the State as an Associate Engineer with the D.O.T. I am not a chef, nor do I like to cook, but out of necessity I will have to!:lol: More on that in the proper thread. For now, I will explain that I actually found this site on a search for a substitute for pectin. I need to know more about food, ingredients, what they do, why we use some of the things we do, and what kinds of substitutions (if any) are available or possible. I can't imagine a better place to get that information than from food professionals!! I was raised on a farm, so know a bit about the basics, and I have done TONS of research on certain foods and ingredients, but I am so infantile in my knowledge, the Universe sent me to this site to learn more!! :lol: Glad to be here, can't wait to learn all I can!!
